Audtion by Katie Kitamura
I swooned over Intimacies from Katie Kitamura, so I was excited to dive into her latest book, Audition.
This “slim yet powerful read” (just over 200 pages) begins in one place and “goes somewhere unexpected and extraordinary,” as two competing narratives unwind.
It’s a genre-bender that explores the blurred lines of being a partner, parent, creator, and muse. I really enjoyed it, in all its complex, abstract, meta glory, but I could see how it could be quite polarizing.
This book is for you if:
You are looking for something that you want to re-read the minute you finish it.
You are a fan of Rachel Cusk.
You enjoy a story that is extreeeeeeemely open to interpretation.
